Hublot Classic Fusion dressed in Berluti
"After jeans and lace - said Ricardo Guadalupe CEO of Hublot - we wanted to carry on exploring ways to dress our dials and bracelets with legendary textiles. Leather is a standard material in watchmaking for straps, but not for the dial. Working with Berluti was a natural choice."
This Timepieces presented for the 2016 edition of Baselworld, four hands made together with Berluti, emblematic Parisian shoemaker, combine the artisanal savoir-faire of both. The Venezia leather, result of the exclusive tanning and Olga Berluti's ingenuity in collaboration with Hublot's watchmaking innovation, presents the Classic Fusion available in two models.
The first one is the "Classic Fusion Berluti All Black", this edition has a nero grigio Venezia handmade strap inspired by the art of scarification, marked with the incision of the Berluti House. The 45 mm black ceramic case contains a HUB1100 mechanical self-winding movement with a nero grigio leather dial signed by Berluti. This model has been issued sparsely, in a limited edition of 500.
The second one is the "Classic Fusion Berluti Scritto" made in an limited edition of 250. The straps of this model are expertly carved from Venezia Scritto calf leather, tobacco coloured and with writing inspired by 18th century calligraphy. The 45 mm case strikes the perfect poise with the warm nuances of Hublot's King Gold.
Each strap is unique as it is made by the same procedure reserved for the leather of Berluti shoes. Both delivered into a superb leather box. One of them in grigio nero Venezian leather and the other one tobacco coloured. All the usual shoe care accessories that you'll find in a Berluti shoes box are also in the Hublot Classic Fusion Berluti box, necessary products to polish and brush the leather: an invitation to the ritual, a ceremony of brightness.
