Born way back in 1957, the Superocean is a watch designed for professional divers. Its monohull case and reinforced glass guaranteed water-resistance to a depth of 200 meters: an extraordinary result back then.

With this model Breitling, who was already the master of heavens, successfully conquered also the underwater realms. This success brought the Swiss maison to optimize the technical and functional aspects of this line, which has become a line of watches with more and more efficient and available models, even with chronographs and able to reach a depth of 2000 meters.

Today Breitling honors this marine timekeeper by creating the Superocean II.
For a higher comfort, the profile of the steel case with screw-lock crown which guarantees water resistance to a depth of 1000 meters - has been made thinner. The unidirectional rotating diver style bezel is covered in natural rubber and shows big numerals, clearly visible even underwater, highlighted by a white luminescent coating and oversized hands. The Superocean II also provides a count for the last fifteen minutes of the diving time and a triangle with a luminescent reference point upon the 12h numeral.

The Superocean II is available with a satin-finished (in the 44 mm version) or a polished steel case (in the 42 mm version) and with a black or blue dial. Breitling created also another model, more suitable for women: white, with a 36 mm diameter polished case. All three of them are operated by selfwinding movement  and certified as chronometers by COSC (Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute).
