With the Da Vinci collection 2017 IWC has renewed the entire range and is back to basics, relaunching the round shape of the case which debuted in the chronograph version with perpetual calendar in 1985. The Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Chronograph 2017 comes in two versions: steel and red gold.

The 43mm case houses a manufacture caliber 89630 with an autonomy of 68 hours on a full charge of the march, the dial with large Arabic numerals is slate in the steel version and silver for the version in red gold. The thickness is equal to 15.5 mm and the sapphire crystal case back shows the design of the movement with blued screws and decorative motifs of the bridges.

The chrono functions to not interfere with calendar functions are almost hidden and the blue ball in the center also displays the Flyback function that allows you to immediately delete, without intermediate stop, the chronograph measurement and start a new measurement. The hour chronograph and minute counters are built into the internal counter at 12 o'clock and allow you to read the chronograph time as in a second clock.

The celestial body is great just 3 mm and remains on the "night sky" in dark blue, while the disc indication of the moon phases under the dial takes on the Earth's shadow function, indicating whether the moon is sharp or flat.

The perpetual calendar functions with the same accuracy of the Portugieser Perpetual Calendar: between 577.5 years the indication will move only one day from the effective duration of the lunar cycle. This display is a four-digit year, the hallmark of every IWC perpetual calendar.

The hinged mobile lugs adhering the clock to all wrist sizes and are extremely comfortable.
