The prizes awarded by the 17th Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG), held at the Théâtre du Léman, are considered by the insiders as well as the watch oscars. A very strict international jury composed of experts of the field has assigned the prizes to the watches of the year by a preselection of 72 timepieces.

The top watchmaking companies can take part in the competition with up to six models and decide in which of the twelve categories to compete. Precision, innovation and quality materials are the prerequisites for obtaining GPHG prizes.
