Francesco Totti joined the prestigious Laureus Academy and was welcomed by IWC a Pilot's Watch Mark XVIII Edition "Laureus Sport for Good Foundation". The award ceremony of the Laureus World Sports Awards took place at the Sporting of Monte-Carlo. During the gala evening Christoph Grainger-Herr - CEO of IWC - and the participants raised funds for Laureus projects which, through sport, aim to unite people and people to do good.

The event rewards the athletes of various sports that have won during the previous year, was established on May 25, 2000 and is remembered for the presence and words of Nelson Mandela: "Sport has the power to change the world." A message supported by IWC Schaffhausen among the main sponsors of Laureus and very active in the field of charity.

According to IWC, sport is a force capable of conveying positive change to put an end to discrimination, violence and inequality. The Laureus Sport for Good has in fact used the power of sport in order to create a promising future for disadvantaged children, supporting more than 100 sports projects in over 35 countries.
