IWC presents the Portofino Moon Phase
It's been over thirty years since the launch of the 5251 IWC Portofino in 1984. Today, the prestigious Schaffhausen manufactory re-designs this model in a moon-phase version with lines and original design, but with more generous dimensions.
The IWC Case of the Moonfase Handwheel Charger (Ref 5164) is 45mm in diameter and 13.5mm in thickness. The dial has many functions: it has at three o'clock the date, at six o'clock the small seconds with a stop device, at nine o'clock the eight day charge and at 12 o'clock the lunar phases. The module that manages the moon phases is so precise that it will be discarded for only one day in 122 years. The IWC 59800 Manifold Movement with Breguet spiral and decorations on bridges and platinum are well visible through the sapphire crystal case.
The IWC Portofino 5164 is available in two versions, both with gold handles: one with steel case and silver dial and golden indexes (ref. IW516401) and the other in 18ct gold red with gold-colored dial and gold indexes massive (ref. IW516403). Both versions come with a dark brown Santoni alligator strap.
