The name Autavia is due to the contraction of AUTomobile and AVIAzione. An iconic collection of TAG Heuer was born from this particular union in 1962. After several editions at Baselworld 2019 TAG Heuer presented the new Autavia collection that definitely has the footprint of the classic Pilot's Watch.

Patrick Dempsey, TAG Heuer ambassador will be the testimonial of this new collection designed for a new generation of adventurers.

Inspired by the cockpit, the dial of the new Autavia models is equipped with three luminescent SuperLuminova-coated hands and hour-markers, which guarantee perfect legibility both day and night. As a tribute to the first Autavans installed from 1933 to 1957 in the dashboards of racing cars and airplanes, the crown has a retro design that makes it easier to grip.

The new TAG Heuer Autavia with 42 mm steel or bronze case are moved by the Caliber 5 in combination with the carbon spiral developed and produced internally by the Maison of St. Imier called ISOGRAPH. It consists of a state-of-the-art oscillator with a carbon composite spiral and a custom-made aluminum alloy rocker wheel. The spiral is virtually insensitive to gravity and impact as well as being completely antimagnetic.

A tire and a propeller are engraved on the case back to symbolize the collection's historical heritage: a combination of shapes that creates a design that recalls the propeller of an airplane.

To make the Autavia suitable for every occasion, the leather strap and the steel bracelet are easily interchangeable with a simple gesture thanks to the integrated button. All the new TAG Heuer Autavans are certified chronometers and offer maximum precision.

The new Autavas, as well as quickly entering the Olympus of the most popular "Heuerists" chronographs, are watches destined to become milestones in TAG Heuer history which, as its motto states, represent the avant-garde of Swiss watchmaking since 1860.
