Sold Paul Newman "Lemon" is the most expensive daytona in the world.
At the prestigious Phillips auction house in Geneva, the world's most expensive Rolex Daytona was sold. We're talking about Paul Newman Ref. 6263 with number 6239 printed on the back of the label called "The legend" with yellow gold case and bracelet. At lot 237 this fabulous timepiece was sold for 3 million and 722 thousand Swiss francs corresponding to three million and four hundred thousand euros.
A unique watch with a lemon-colored lemon finish and two chronograph buttons screwed instead of a pump. Although Rolex has never expressed an official opinion it seems that there are only two or three Paul Newman in gold with screw buttons. Both of them were made at the end of the 60's when Rolex made "experiments" on the line.
