Waterproof Case up to 100 meters, is an example of strength. The carrure with characteristic lines is made from a solid 904L stainless steel corrosion-resistant block. The fluted case back is hermetically screwed with a tool through which they can access only the watchmakers Rolex movement. The corona charging is equipped Triplock triple waterproofing system and protected by apposite shoulders formed in the body of the case middle and firmly screwed to the case as if it were the sealed chamber of a submarine. The glass, with magnifying glass Cyclope at 3 o'clock to facilitate an easier reading of the date, is scratchproof sapphire.

The Yacht-Master 40 is equipped with the caliber 3135, a mechanical self-winding movement entirely developed and produced by Rolex which boasts a range of about 48 hours. It 'also equipped with a solid-link Oyster bracelet in 904L steel and Everose gold 18 ct., With Oysterlock safety clip which prevents any accidental opening. Furthermore it has the rapid extension knit Easylink, an ingenious system patented by Rolex that allows you to easily adjust the length of the bracelet by about 5 mm, for added comfort in all circumstances.
