The textured dial is inspired by the view from Mount Iwate. The ice blue color of the dial represents the central paradise or ‘中天= Chūten’ – the wonderful clear blue sky seen from the top of the mountain.

The city of Hachimantai, Iwate Prefecture, is home to the Nanataki, a 30-meter waterfall that rises from a stream that descends from Mount Iwate. The dial represents this frozen waterfall, which creates huge ice crystals during the coldest time of the year. The new model and the new color of the dial illustrate the dynamism of the frozen Nanataki and the mysterious expressions found in the bluish-white shade of the ice.
