On Tuesday, May 19, Grand Seiko welcomed guests and watch enthusiasts to the evocative Hi-Res rooftop terrace of Hotel Valadier in Rome for an exclusive evening organized in collaboration with Bedetti Roma 1882, the historic Roman watchmaking house and the brand’s partner in the Italian capital. The event offered the opportunity to discover Grand Seiko’s latest creations, unveiled at the most recent edition of Watches & Wonders Geneva, alongside some of the most emblematic models from its watchmaking universe and a selection from the prestigious Masterpiece Collection, featuring exceptional timepieces that represent the highest expression of the Japanese manufacture’s savoir-faire.

Overlooking the rooftops of the Eternal City, framed by the silhouettes of Rome’s monuments and the greenery of Villa Borghese, the terrace of Hotel Valadier provided the ideal setting to convey the philosophy of “The Nature of Time,” which has always inspired Grand Seiko. A conception of time deeply connected to the rhythms of nature, the perception of the seasons, and the pursuit of harmony through precision. Characterized by a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere, the rooftop was reimagined for the occasion as an immersive and elegant space designed to guide guests through the discovery of the Grand Seiko universe.

During the evening, Grand Seiko welcomed Ikukiyo Komatsu, the brand’s historic master watchmaker at the Shinshu Watch Studio, who guided guests through the Spring Drive 9RB2 caliber with a dedicated demonstration of the movement’s assembly phases. Introduced in 2025, the caliber marked the debut of the new U.F.A. – Ultra Fine Accuracy – standard and represents one of the brand’s most significant technological evolutions.

Among the evening’s standout timepieces were the new Ushio 300 Divers in High-Intensity Titanium, distinguished by blue and green dials whose shades evoke the depths of the ocean and the movement of marine currents.

Alongside these, the brand also presented another new model inspired by the iconic 62GS from 1967, the first automatic Grand Seiko watch. Its dial draws inspiration from the natural phenomenon of sakura-wakaba — that fleeting moment during the Japanese spring when cherry blossoms bloom while the first leaves begin to sprout. The delicate pink hues of the petals blend with the soft green of the foliage in a chromatic composition of remarkable refinement.

Special attention was also dedicated to the Masterpiece Collection, the ultimate expression of Grand Seiko’s watchmaking artistry. These timepieces are crafted within the prestigious Micro Artist Studio, a center of excellence located inside the Shinshu Watch Studio, where the manufacture’s most experienced watchmakers work. Since 2000, the studio has created limited-edition pieces that combine the highest level of hand-finishing with the exclusive Spring Drive technology.

On November 27, 2025, the Swiss Maison Baume & Mercier, in collaboration with Bedetti 1882, celebrated the Clifton collection with an exclusive event. The prestigious Punch Room at the five-star hotel The Rome EDITION served as the backdrop for an immersive evening, designed to showcase the Maison’s universe.

Guests were welcomed into a sophisticated atmosphere, enhanced by a refined DJ set that accompanied the event throughout the evening. The watches presented highlighted the elegance and strong contemporary identity of the Clifton collection, an expression of authentic Swiss watchmaking tradition.

The Clifton collection is powered by the Baumatic manufacture movement, entirely developed and produced in Switzerland, renowned for its technical performance and excellent reliability. A testament to Baume & Mercier’s expertise and watchmaking heritage.

During the evening, guests also had the opportunity to discover and try on the latest additions to the Riviera, Hampton, and Classima collections, a selection of timepieces featuring automatic or quartz movements and various complications.

Completing the experience, a Baume & Mercier watchmaker led a workshop dedicated to the Baumatic movement, offering guests the opportunity to delve into the Maison’s manufacturing mechanics firsthand.

Bedetti and Rolex celebrate excellence in Rome: the new 2025 models presented at the Trajan’s Market

On Wednesday, May 21, the ancient Via Biberatica, in the heart of the Trajan’s Market, was transformed into an exceptional stage to celebrate the excellence of watchmaking. The prestigious Swiss maison Rolex, in collaboration with the historic Roman house Bedetti, turned on the brick of the open-air museum with green light, giving guests an exclusive and timeless event.

From 1934, the year in which Bedetti began his collaboration with the maison, to 2006 when he inaugurated the first official Rolex corner in Italy, the Roman maison has stood out for its seriousness, competence and passion. Values that are renewed today with the same strength, thanks to a deep bond with Rolex founded on tradition, precision and respect for the art of watchmaking.

During the evening, the new Rolex 2025 models were previewed on the terrace overlooking the Imperial Forums. Eight display cases, elegantly arranged along the route, hosted twenty-four selected pieces, arousing emotion and wonder among enthusiasts and collectors.

The experience was enhanced by the lyrical performance of a female voice, accompanied by a string quartet, which gave the event a tone of refined solemnity.

Rome, 18 Oct. 24 – Palazzo Firenze, animated by a DJ set that filled the alleys and squares of the district with music, was the location for an exceptional event in the heart of downtown Rome: “The iconic collections of Fred”, a celebration of the jewels of the historic French maison that this year celebrated 10 years of partnership with the historic Roman brand, the maison Bedetti Roma 1882.

The iconic jewels of the maison Fred were exhibited in the internal rooms of the palace and available for a “touch and feel” experience specifically designed for guests who wanted to try some of the most luxurious precious items from the various collections.

The very refined jewels of the maison were on display, such as those from the “Chance Infinie” and “Pretty Woman” series.

Some display cases, arranged in a room where Caravaggio painted many of his works at the end of the 16th century, contained other masterpieces of high jewelry, often characterized by precious stones in bright colors and elegant combinations.

And the “Force 10” could not be missed, introduced in the 1960s and become a true symbol of the brand and one of the best sellers of the historic Bedetti boutique in Piazza San Silvestro, which was the first in Italy to embrace the Fred brand, now a brand of the LVMH group (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton), in 2014.

In addition to Stefano and Marcello Bedetti, the true stars of the event, many well-known faces from the entertainment world took part in the evening. Tête-à-Tête. Intimate, private, exclusive. A dialogue, an emotional and cultural exchange between artists who contaminate each other, work together, in synergy, produce works that overcome personal barriers, influence each other, enrich the viewer. An exhibition that frames an event in the iconic Mucciaccia contemporary and modern art gallery, via di Fontanella Borghese in Rome.

For the occasion, the prestigious Roman jewelry store Bedetti invited passionate customers to discover eight new watches from the Swiss brand TUDOR, thus concluding the summer season of collaboration with the main watchmakers and jewelry houses. Timepieces, and timeless, that subtly combine traditional aesthetic elements with contemporary watchmaking art.

The watches presented are divided into two categories: the Black Bay line, dedicated to a male audience, and the Clair De Rose line, entirely dedicated to women, revisited with the introduction of new “TUDOR blue” dials.

The new Black Bay in monochrome version features the “original” dimensions of the Black Bay, with a 41 mm diameter case, and is equipped with a Master Chronometer certified manufacture caliber.

The brand new Black Bay 58 GMT, also Master Chronometer certified, with its 39 mm diameter case and warm-colored bidirectional bezel, evokes the golden age of air travel and the dynamic life of the jet set.

Stefano and Marcello Bedetti were present for the occasion and welcomed the guests in the splendid two-story treasure chest in the heart of Rome. A gathering of art, passion, and timeless culture, like the watches on display, which captured the attention of those present, an audience of about 130 exceptional guests, representatives of the world of culture, cinema, and art.

Bedetti and TUDOR, supported by the hosts Massimiliano Mucciaccia and his wife Giulia Abate, designed for the guests an itinerary of knowledge, traditions, cultural references and author references, followed by a buffet dinner a stone’s throw from the iconic Piazza di San Lorenzo in Lucina. There was also a welcome cocktail to sew the relationships, the network, the conviviality of a proscenium as exclusive as it was intimate. The unmissable DJ set conceived by Eleonora Albrecht, a reference in the world of electronic music in the Capital, who cheered up those present with a pressing and fun rhythm.

Signature cocktail between Bedetti and Cartier

Ending yesterday, with a private cocktail party for just over 100 guests, was the three-day event that the Roman boutique Bedetti organized, in partnership with the Maison Cartier, for the presentation of new watches for 2024.

On the second floor of the well-known Roman jewelry house, which overlooks Piazza San Silvestro, the new Cartier timepieces unveiled last April at Watches&Wonders in Geneva were offered exclusively, with dedicated one-to-one appointments. Fifteen in all were the watches to try out, admire and discover, including, in particular, models from the Santos collection, one of the most iconic timepieces ever, first launched in 1904 and whose first and faithful testimonial was the Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos Dumont.

Today, spurred on by the insights of Cyrille Vigneron, president and CEO of Cartier, who strongly believes in reinterpreting the lines of past models and transporting them into the present, the Santos is being declined in new models, including the Dual time, which allows time to be measured in two different places at the same time, presented in steel with a gray subdial with an adjustable second time zone, and the Santos-Dumont Rewind capable of reversing the traditional time reading, in a limited edition in platinum, with a carnelian dial with Roman numerals positioned in counterclockwise order; two models true to Cartier inventiveness and originality.

Another popular novelty is the Réflection, a precious timepiece that serves as a bridge between Cartier’s watchmaking and jewelry savoir- faire. It is a bracelet with two ends that do not meet: one offers space for a dial and the other for a mirrored surface in which time reflects and seems to flow in reverse.

To seal the appointment, a cocktail reception was held at Il Palazzetto, a jewel of the Hassler Collection’s capital city reception and hospitality, once again sealing the friendship between the fourth generation of the Bedetti family and the sixth generation of the Swiss-Italian Wirth family that owns the Hassler.

Many VIP guests attended, including showgirl Manuela Arcuri, actor Andrea Sartoretti, actresses Claudia Gerini and Martina Stella, host Metis di Meo, host Rudy Zerby, journalist Roberto D’Agostino and many others.

Delighted by the live music of a violinist performing to the notes of an electronic base, they were able to carve out a few hours for themselves and to admire Cartier creations within the hidden walls of a little-known Roman venue. The Palazzetto overlooks one of the world’s best-known places, the Spanish Steps, and encompasses intimate, drawing-room atmospheres in Pompeian red in the Fireplace Room, warm wooden rooms in the Library, and bucolic excerpts in the secret garden from which one can admire the sky tinged with the pink of sunset, with the ivy-covered perimeter that is none other than the very famous Spanish Steps of Trinità dei Monti. “We are very happy to have organized this event with such a prestigious partner as Cartier in such an unprecedented and exclusive location as the Palazzetto di Piazza di Spagna. The city’s context is also constantly changing for the better and we are honored to be able to help bring the image of the city of Rome higher and higher,” Stefano Bedetti, owner and adviser, along with his brother Marcello and father Massimo, of the historic Roman house Bedetti, said at the conclusion of the event.

CARTIER PRIVÉ COLLECTION

Cartier Privé is the eighth annual rendez- vous for watchmaking enthusiasts, with a contemporary take on one of the most prestigious watches in Cartier’s repertoire: the Tortue.

It follows on from the rare watches unveiled in previous years, such as the Crash, the Tank Cintrée and the Tonneau, all of which have been redesigned with a single ambition in mind: dedicating technique to aesthetics. This year, Cartier has chosen to introduce the monopoussoir chronograph complication.

The Tortue watch was born in 1912 from a powerful creative vision, namely to create a dialogue between curves and taut lines. The new hours/minutes Tortue is faithful to the original design, but has been subtly reworked. With horns stretched along the strap and a slimmer profile, the watch has flourished and been made lighter. Paying tribute to the very first model, it features apple-shaped hands and a rail-track that follows the iconic shape of the watch around the hour markers, making the dial even easier to read.

ANIMAL JEWELLERY WATCHES

Charismatic and untameable, the emblematic animals of Cartier’s menagerie have been present in its watchmaking since 1914, the year in which the panther’s coat first appeared on a watch case.

This year, a fascinating chimera, born from a meeting of the zebra and crocodile, inspires this entirely paved creation. It is simultaneously graphic and organic, with each stripe lacquered by hand. The silhouette of this imaginary creature encircles a diamond-shaped dial, as if to embrace it. The delicacy of the engraving around each coloured stone reflects the Maison’s expertise.

REFLECTION DE CARTIER COLLECTION

After the Clash [Un]limited and Coussin watches, the Reflection de Cartier watch continues the odyssey of magic, illusion and fascination. The collection’s motto: transcribing the mysteries of time through bold creations.

The result of Cartier’s work on shapes, this watch combines savoir-faire from Cartier watchmakers and jewellers alike. It all starts with the open bracelet’s unprecedented generous architecture, which blends openwork and polished reflective gold with elongated lines and defined edges. Tension culminates as a delicate dial meets its reflection, where time appears to move backwards. The gem-like bevelled glass on the dial marks the piece’s double identity, equal in sophistication and precision.

SANTOS DE CARTIER AND SANTOS-DUMONT COLLECTIONS

Staying loyal to the aviator’s originality and ingenuity, Cartier is continuing the adventure with two newly-imagined versions of this icon. Two watches to question our perception of time.

First, the elegant Santos-Dumont Rewind watch which changes how we traditionally tell the time and, second, the bold Santos de Cartier Dual watch which allows you to track two different time zones at once.

Bold and transformative, this new Santos de Cartier Dual Time watch overcomes distance, just like the aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont did in his day.

Its mechanical movement with automatic winding combines two time zones, allowing you to tell the time both where you are and where you’re from simultaneously, without sacrificing its usual resistance and reliability.

Changing the course of time is the technical and aesthetic goal for the all-new Santos- Dumont Rewind watch.

The carnelian dial is full of boldness and its subtle nuances emphasise just how unique this limited edition in platinum is. Roman numerals indicate the time in an arrangement that reverses tradition!
